Ah Life....

Well at least we have our health! It’s not that bad but things are a little crazy for us at the moment! About a month and a half ago Patrick and I were able to conceive- unfortunately we lost the baby around 6 weeks, what a HARD thing to go through. We recovered (we took some time out to camp, and our family and friends were really there for us) and we are back on the horse! We were able to start trying again this month so we are hoping we will have some good news soon! My department at work is downsizing so I will find out on Friday if I still have a job- only the strong will survive so hopefully all my hard work over the last 9 years has paid off. Patrick on the other hand won employee of the quarter which awarded him a $500 gift card so we invested in a really nice camera….. Which brings me to my next adventure! So the bikinis are doing well and I’m excited to go into my second season next year, I am also going to start dabbling in photography!! I really enjoy the newborn photos so I have practiced and I am beginning to order props for my sessions! I have twins booked for Friday and am so excited! I’m also getting into Boudoir photography and am being mentored by my friend. We are planning on partnering up when I’m ready to shoot on my own. I just really want to be self employed and doing things that I love so I hope between the two businesses I will be able to do that some day! Patrick is going backpacking this weekend and he’s over the moon excited about it. We also signed up for kickball which starts next week- we are looking forward to meeting new people and making new memories! We are doing really well, trying to soak up as much out of life as possible and loving every minute of it! Hugs! The Barnhills

Lake Arrowhead!

We just returned from our annual family trip from Lake Arrowhead California! What an amazing time seeing all of Patrick's family. We drove out on Sunday July 10th and were there all week- we arrived home safe on Sunday July 17th. We played "Pounce" which is the most fun card game ever- I stepped up my game this year! Patrick went fishing, we got plenty of sun, and ATE ATE ATE! The weather was cool- we were chilly most the week but it was a nice break from the Arizona heat! I brought a bunch of Button Bikinis and the girls loved them! I think by the end of the week they all owned one! What an awesome group of girls!! We watched old videos, seeing Patrick so little makes me excited to start our family! Gail made her yarn hangers which we all love. Patrick and I made lasagna one night for the whole bunch- 15 people, they all loved it and boy were we relieved! That was a lot of pressure! Looking forward to seeing everyone again at Christmas.

Patrick and I offically decided to start a family! VERY scary but so exciting! More to come soon :)

Spring Break!

Patrick and I desperately needed a vacation so this last weekend we headed to San Diego for some R & R. Plus it was a chance for me to debut my own bikinis! Our friend Meredith went with us and we stayed in a beautiful condo 10 minutes from the beach! We spent most the time on the beach and at a bar just off the sand. We walked around town, stopped into a few bikini stores so I could do some research and networking, and enjoyed the beach lifestyle of bare feet and surfboards! Patrick’s cousins joined us for dinner one night and on the beach one of the days! We were able to see our little 2nd cousins who are too cute to describe- we love them so much! We are anxious to go back, and hopefully it will be sooner than later!

I have had some ups and downs with the soft launch of my bikini line. I think for now the kinks are worked through and I can actually start advertising! I look forward to the future and becoming a business woman as well as doing what I love!

Patrick and I have a very busy summer ahead, all our friends are having babies, and we are in a wedding in May in Texas! As we enjoy being newlyweds (our one year anniversary is just around the corner) we look forward to the future and are thinking about starting our own family very soon!

The Barnhills. Buttons, and Trucks- OH MY!

Patrick and I have been busy with our projects as usual. Patrick has officially been driving around in the red truck that he has been lifting for the last few years! What an accomplishment! So now he can start working on his other fun projects like the VW Bug and Thing! He was recently scuba certified for a project at work and has been diving at Lake Pleasant. He seems to really enjoy it so I have a feeling I will have to get certified soon so we can dive for fun! Things with Button Bikini have been rapidly progressing! I found a wonderful manufacturer in LA who does AMAZING work, my website is up, and the photo shoot is quickly approaching! I have discovered that my favorite place on earth is the Garment District in LA. They have the most beautiful fabrics and at unbeatable prices!

So besides all of that, Patrick and I manage to find some time to enjoy each other, our families, and friends. This month was my family’s birthday month- my sister, brother, step-mom and dad all had birthdays in January! We had a wonderful breakfast together and made omelets and biscuits with gravy, YUM! Patrick’s mom came to visit and we went to a super fancy restaurant in Scottsdale which was a wonderful treat, and relaxed the rest of the weekend away! We are so blessed. Love and Kisses!

Playing catch up!

So a lot of time has passed since we posted an update- life goes by SO fast!!! What have we been up to...For Halloween we weren't really planning anything because our honeymoon was the day after but we ended up doing a last minute costume- ghosts!!! Five of us threw sheets over our heads and went out- what a hoot!! We went on our honeymoon on the 1st of November (my birthday passed while we were there- best birthday ever!). We went to Antigua.. It was a dream vacation! We ate, relaxed, ate, took naps, ate, and drank!!! There were some bugs there (sand flies) that bit our whole bodies so the time we got home we were itchier than we'd ever been!! That part was miserable so I keep telling
Patrick we need a re-do next year!!We are getting all our Christmas decorations up, planning the annual ugly sweater party/ Patrick's 32nd b-day celebration, and diligently working on getting the bikini biz up and running! Went shopping on black Friday- waited in line at 3am at Staples and got a laptop and a printer- saved $400!! Cha-Ching!!!More to come soon- promise I'll make more time for updates!!! Happy Holidays! xo

A Very Full Life.

I recently applied for a new position at the University- a management position that I have wanted for some time now. After two TOUGH rounds of interviews I ended up landing the job! So I'm now the manager of the Quality Assurance Department!! It's been about a month now and I love every second of it- even though it's HARD work! I was offered a trip to Texas for UOP's annual top performer summit which was a blast- we heard some great speakers, we had wonderful food, and I got to see Dallas! Patrick has been working overtime on his truck- it's very close to being done! The lift looks really nice and the fact that he did it makes it that much more awesome. We just got back from camping along the Rim with my good friend and her family, it was so nice to get away and Patrick got some fishing time in so he was a happy camper : ) We had our first annual BBQ/Pool party- the picture says it all (SUPER FUN!). I know it's hard to see but I'm wearing a bathing suit that I designed! We are working on getting our wedding thank you's out this week and the 4th of July will be spent with Patrick's family celebrating the life of his late Grandma. Much love and more to come soon! xoxox

The dust has settled...

So now that all the wedding events have come to a close, we find ourselves back in our usual routine, which is refreshing. I had the best time planning the wedding but WOW that was stressful! It was well worth it, I posted a few pictures to prove it : ) What an amazing day.

I have returned to starting my new business in entering the bikini world- I'm super excited to get going! My manufacturer is working on finishing my patterns and is making samples so we can work out any kinks so we can start producing them! I'm working on the details for the photo shoot for the website, finding the models, the sets, the shoes, etc. All very fun!

Our honeymoon is fast approaching- September will be here before we know it!!
