Button Bikini

So on to my next adventure! Not only planning a wedding, I am also designing a swimwear line called Button Bikini! I'm having SO much fun- even though it's a ton of work. I'm in the drawing stages and creating some prototypes so I can send them to my pattern maker/manufacturer in January. My line is set to launch in March- just in time for Spring Break! I'm hoping I can juggle/afford to do both the wedding and the line all at the same time! Wish me luck and cross your fingers!

When is the date you ask?

What fun planning a wedding can be! We are super excited to start plans for a possible spring 2010 wedding, we are still trying to find the perfect location! We've been searching high and low for places that are available and fit both our needs/wants. To be continued...

We're Engaged!

WOW what an eventful weekend! Patrick proposed! He insisted we hike South Mountain on Saturday morning despite his broken toe- we did a trail that him and I usually do so it was extra special :) Once we got to the top (called Star Peak) he got on his knee and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised and excited! After crying my eyes out I finally got the word YES out!! He chose that spot so I can look out our window and see it any time I want! I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have someone like Patrick in my life, even better as my future husband :)

So... It's been a while!! Work has been very demanding for us both that we are just exhausted! Nikki finally finished up the special project at AFS for UOP, and Patrick is now working on new design projects for ESA. Recent happenings: For Halloween six of us dressed up as children's blocks the spelled questionable words! Patrick broke his big toe on Halloween morning by stubbing it really badly. He is SUPPOSED to be taking it easy for 6-8 weeks, but we all know Patrick better then that! We had a blast on Halloween despite Patrick's toe :) Nikki turned 31 on November 7th- we went to the U of A homecoming game in Tucson and then spent time with friends celebrating the Wildcat's win :) It was a great birthday! Patrick's b-day is slowly approaching- he is planning his 4th annual Bad Sweater party!! Other news Nikki has been working on her Cello lessons- thankfully Patrick bought her some DVD's and sheet music for her B-day so learning will be a little easier hopefully!! She is also starting her own business and is in the designing stages- more to come on that. XOXOX

We LOVE camping :)

We went camping last weekend- just the two of us (none of our friends like camping or couldn't go but we went anyway!). We have both been so tied up at work, a break was very much needed- and it was a BLAST! We got to our usual spot along the rim on Friday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon. Despite the invasion of Daddy Long Legs (we both ended up with one on our head at one time or another during the trip- YUCK!) it was one of the best trips I've ever had. There was a beautiful rainbow- you can see it in two of the pictures! We hiked 9 miles on Saturday to Fossil Springs, it rained almost the whole hike which ended up being a blessing, the sun would have been way too much for that trail. The dogs loved swimming in the springs and we found some wild blackberries to snack on along the way. We are hoping we'll get one more trip in before winter, but with how crazy busy things have been we won't hold our breath! xoxo

EXHAUSTED!

Patrick and I both are beat up from working way too much! We have both been working 10-12 hour days.. He's working on getting his SQUID project done for DHS and I've been working at ACS (UOP's certification company) to help them get caught up. Hopefully both our projects will come to an end soon so we can go camping and have some fun! I've been teaching myself to play the cello- when time allows.. I can't wait to get good at it!! I may take some lessons to help speed along my progress :) Other than that- we are planning our end of summer BBQ and I am hosting TJ and Shayla's baby shower- it's a boy! We are so excited to welcome the little guy!! More to come later- kisses!!

Wedding Fever!

Patrick and I attended a beautiful wedding this past weekend for our friends Sarah and Chuck. It was a BLAST! Despite the heat and humidity, which the bride handled very well, we danced all night long! SOMEHOW (very rigged we are sure of it) Patrick caught the garter and I caught the bouquet! I think our friends are trying to tell us they want another party ASAP! :) Other than Patrick melting his rental shoes with sparklers at the end of the night, we made it home in one piece! Congrats again Sarah and Chuck!

Our New Blog!

We are totally new at blogging, so here goes! Patrick and I just returned from a two week vacation which entailed a week long cruise to Mexico and then off to Arrowhead for Patrick's family's annual vacation. Both were amazing, and we made a ton of new and wonderful memories!! We are so glad to be home again, we are beat from our vacations! We were welcomed by a few monsoon storms which Patrick loves, and I just worry about my decorative pillows on our patio furniture being thrown all about :)

Lots more to come and thank you for checking out our new blog!!
